One place that we LOVE to take the kids to in SA is Carrick Hill.
Carrick Hill also doubles as a great place to take the mother-in-law when she comes to visit, if she likes old houses and gardens. She'll think you're on top of your game if you bring her here!
Carrick Hill is not only perfect for winning points in the in-law's book, but their story book trail is ideal to keep the kids entertained, and to take a memory trip back to your own childhood.
Bring some food, have a picnic, have a wander and sit there and think about what an awesome parent you are for bringing the kids here for the day! (Well done you!)
The Carrick Hill story book trail takes you down the path of some old childhood favourites, such as: Charlotte's web, Wind in the Willows, Three Little Pigs, the Magic Faraway tree, along with some more modern classics. The grounds and the Story Book Trail are free to explore (YAY!) if you'd like to visit the house and learn some pretty interesting facts then there is an entrance fee to pay there.
Carrick Hill gets our pick for: School Holiday Events, our Weekend Pick & Fun Free Activities.
Get on over there for a relaxing day out of the house.
