Monarto Zoo - Our Weekend Pick

Updated: Sep 19, 2019

Have you been to Monarto Zoo? If not, then what are you waiting for?

If you have been, then is it time for another trip?

Although it's a bit far out (approx. 1 hour from the Adelaide CBD) we highly recommend planning a day trip to visit this fantastic safari type zoo in South Australia.

What's so great about Monarto Zoo?

Firstly, it's the largest open-range zoo in Australia. Meaning many of the animals are free to roam while you get driven around in a bus, through the open spaces to view them. This is PERFECT for stopping the tired kid's legs (and parent's legs too!).

There's so many animals to see - rhinos, giraffes, chimpanzees, meerkats, zebras, cheetahs, lions and so many more (over 500 animals). Stop and see if the wallaby's will let you give them a pat and check out the birds and reptiles too.

Opt for an amazing animal experience while you're there...

Monarto Zoo also offers some pretty amazing experiences. We didn't get to try them out but can't wait to go back to experience them.

Lions 360, Meerkat Mingle and the Giraffe Safari are just a few to choose from. Find out more and see the rest of the range here...

Here's a quick video review on what we saw at Monarto Zoo....
